Semioscopis packardella – Bar Harbor 15-22 May 2014

I hope “semioscopis” means “half-a-‘stache”.  Anyhow, Packard’s Semioscopis has been coming to a light in our yard. Proctor (published 1938) reported this moth in Bar Harbor and Mt. Desert between May 12 and June 22.

stache2I think the difference in the basal area of the FW on these two individuals might be an artifact of the lighting and camera setting.
